Jack was an active member in a gang culture in the town of District Heights, Maryland, a Washington, D. C. suburb. In 1955, at age twelve, he was the youngest member by two years of the now infamous Bachelor gang. This novel chronicles the evolution of the Bachelors into the Apollos. The story tells of the beginning of gang activity in District Heights. As the boys grew to young men, the gang activity changed in nature also. The single shot of a gun sent a rival gang member to the hospital and crippled him for life. As a result of police pressure, the Bachelors disbanded, giving birth to the legendary Apollos...

Meet Jack D'Ambrosio

Jack was born in Washington, D.C. When he was young, his family relocated to District Heights, Maryland. In 1966, he moved to Florida and became a police officer. He retired in 1983 after a work-related injury. After living in Florida for thirty years, Jack has moved with his new wife to Lothian, Maryland, near his youthful roots.
